We recognise hazards will always exist, but we believe all accidents are preventable, and we actively manage and mitigate risks through an array of systems, processes and training. This includes investment in plant and equipment.

We have also implemented a critical risk management program, occupational health monitoring program, consistent engagement and training in health and safety, additional safety management controls and emergency response protocols.

We are proud to be part of the Darwin community – where most of our operations staff reside – and hope to be a long-term partner of the Northern Territory.

We understand that community expectations are at the heart of our social license to operate, and we strive to build on authentic and meaningful relationships with local stakeholders and ensure that our promises are fulfilled.

Our Community Grants Program is just one way we support our local community. More than 20 community groups in the Darwin region have already received grants through the program.

The Finniss Lithium Operation will make an important contribution to the global effort to address climate change through the production of spodumene concentrate – used in the technologies required to reduce emissions.

While we have demonstrated our ability to extract and export critical minerals within short timeframes, we recognise our responsibility to produce our materials with the lowest possible carbon footprint.

Our operations are currently powered by onsite diesel generators. Where practicable, we aim to identify and implement energy efficiency measures and explore opportunities for renewable energy infrastructure to reduce our Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions over the life of our mines.
